Lab alumna Gabby Dauber '24 has won a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and a Chancellor's Fellowship from UC Berkeley. She will join the lab of Dr. Trevor Keenan in the Environmental Science, Policy and Management Program at UC Berkeley in fall 2026.
Fisher and Goldsmith lab member Ashley Agatep '27 has won a national Barry Goldwater Scholarship. From an estimated pool of over 5,000 college sophomores and juniors, 1,485 students majoring in science, engineering, and mathematics were nominated by 482 academic institutions to compete for the 2026 Goldwater Scholarships. Among the students who reported, 226 are men, 217 are women, and nearly all intend to pursue a PhD as their highest degree.
Lab alumna Mona Patterson '25, who is on her way to an internship in Washington, D.C. at Science Magazine, has won a James Family Scholarship for her continued studies. Mona studied Broadcast Journalism and Documentary Film at Chapman, but has returned to university for her associate's degree in science as she seeks to pursue a career in environmental journalism.
